Frequently asked questions
Is Daakiaa really free?
Yes. The Free plan is free forever: up to 3 mailboxes on your own domain, 2 GB each (6 GB in total), with webmail, phone and Outlook access, passkeys, 2-step sign-in and spam protection. No credit card is needed. To keep Daakiaa free of spam, every new account is verified first: Aadhaar for individuals; for businesses and organisations, the GST certificate or any government registration document (schools, trusts and societies without GST are welcome).
Do I need my own domain?
Yes. Daakiaa is business email on your company's domain, like you@yourcompany.com. During setup we show the exact DNS records to add, check them for you, and can add them in one click if your domain is on Cloudflare.
How secure is my email?
Every sign-in can use passkeys or 2-step verification, administrators can require 2-step for everyone and limit sign-in to chosen countries, connections are encrypted, outgoing mail is signed with DKIM, and SPF and DMARC are set up for you. Remote images load through our proxy so senders cannot see your location.
Can I use Gmail app, Outlook or my iPhone?
Yes. Daakiaa works with any standard mail app over IMAP and SMTP, plus contacts and calendar sync. Our one-tap phone setup fills in all the settings for you on Android and iPhone.
Can I move my old mail from Gmail or Microsoft 365?
Yes. The built-in import brings over mail from Gmail and Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and any IMAP server, and can create missing mailboxes on the way. On paid plans, split delivery lets you move people over gradually without losing a single message.
Is there a sending limit?
To keep everyone's mail landing in the inbox there is a daily limit. On the Free plan the whole company can send up to 100 emails a day. Paid plans count per person: 500 emails a day per person on Starter, 1,000 on Business and 2,000 on Enterprise, so a team of 20 on Starter can send 10,000 a day. Enterprise limits can be raised on request. New accounts send at most 200 a day in their first week.
How do I upgrade?
In Admin, Billing: choose how many people and how much storage each needs, and pay online. Your mailboxes, mail and settings stay exactly as they are.
Do you show ads or read my mail?
No. There are no ads in Daakiaa, and we never use the contents of your mail for advertising.
